A Boy and His Pets

This is my Saturday summed up in two pictures. Ferris Mewler will not put one dainty paw outside the door until he sees his precious Colin is playing outside. He promptly decides he is going to play, too. That cat has no respect for the fact that I feed him. None. He lives only for Colin. As you can see below, the feeling is mutual. At least Ferris is nice to someone. :-)

Colin, Dirty Floors, and Dog Biscuits

As you can see in the above pictures, Colin is all over the house at the moment. He won't stay in one place anymore to say the least. This brings up the problem with my horribly dirty floors. You don't realize how rather yucky your floors can be until you have a baby spending all waking hours scooting across them and putting every tidbit he finds in his mouth. UGH. The poor guy is covered in cat hair, crumbs, and carpet fibers every time I pick him up. I am trying to stay on top of these floors, but with pets...UGH again! Oh well...I keep telling myself it is helping his immune system. HA!
Because of Colin's current active lifestyle, he has a new favorite hobby. Eating DOG BONES. Yeah, like Milk Bones, good people. Enzo always hides his bones all over the house for later consumption and now Colin is the one finding them. Enzo will often crumble the bone up and leave bits hidden and Colin has eaten SEVERAL of those before I have caught it. He will shove the bit in his mouth and then I can't tell he has eaten anything until I see the telltale dog biscuit drool on his shirt. Nice, I know. I try to catch Enzo hiding the bits so I can clean them up, but obviously I keep missing some because Colin keeps finding them. I also have to be very careful because Colin will absolutely eat the dog food if I leave it within reach. And don't even get me started about the water bowl. Poor Enzo. ;-)

Colin Plays Ref

Colin was pleased as punch this afternoon to find himself the referee of the latest Battle Royale between Enzo and Ferris Mewler. Those animals are complete lunatics and Colin thinks it is hilarious. He was rolling with laughter. Another important tidbit in this photo...I finally broke down and pulled out one of Colin's size 18 month onesies today and as you can see...it fits fine. For some reason I am having the hardest time moving him out of those 12 month clothes...something about "18 month" is freaking me out. It just sounds so big...the little guy is only 10 months old! I don't know why 18 month is bothering me so much...what I am going to do with 2T?!? ;-)

Also, my baby is getting close to really needing a haircut. All of a sudden it is growing like lightening! He has always had a full head of hair, but now it is getting long and curly. Shannon noticed and so has Jeremy! :-) I love those soft curls!! I am going to have a breakdown on haircut day. I am determined to hold out until his birthday. His actual birthday falls on a Sunday, so I think that would be a fun day to do it. Jer gets his hair cut at a great old time barber shop that we will use. I think it would be fun to have his first haircut certificate to be dated on his first birthday.
